    The study includes data on the recent one-year attrition and retention rates of more than 200 home equity lending institutions - and in each of more than 500 populous U.S. counties, organized by metro area.

    The study breaks out attrition by cause:  loans retained, and loans lost to moves, foreclosures, first-lien mortgage refinance payoffs, and "replacement" home equity products.
