Industry Outlook, 2012:  Mortgage & Home Equity Loans, our Fall annual outlook study covering both the mortgage and home equity industries, is now available for purchase.

    This year's study contains several special sections.  We evaluate the precise impact of the reduction of FHA and GSE maximum loan sizes by running every FHA and GSE loan of the last full year against the new limits by county.  We count loans that would now exceed the limits, and we show results nationally and by state.

    Another special section proposes a bold new plan to jump-start home prices and bring some under-water borrowers up for air.  A third special section analyzes the effect on loan production of credit tightening over the last four years.

    As in prior years, the study ranks the players in both mortgage and home equity lines of business, discloses company-specific credit data, and projects loan volumes likely to be achieved over the next full year.  We also provide a full update on the foreclosure crisis.
