This database has quarterly personal bankruptcy filings – and filing rates per 1,000 adults – for more than 3,000 U.S. counties going back to 1989.  The data is broken out by Chapter 7 (liquidation) and Chapter 13 (reorganization) filings.  The data is available in two versions.  Model-builders may wish to get the Historical County Bankruptcy Filings Database, which provides data on all time periods dating back to 1989.  More casual users might prefer the Current County Bankruptcy Filings Database, which includes 12 months of filings ending with the most recent quarter, 12 months of filings from the previous quarter, and 12 months of filings from the year-earlier period.
